Mādhava's garland of the thousand nyāyas — every adhikaraṇa of Jaimini's twelve adhyāyas set out as the five limbs, with the memorial kārikās that carry them.
Each adhikaraṇa is set as the five limbs in order. The first four are the transmitted text of Mādhava, on the Mīmāṃsā-sūtra of Jaimini, twelve adhyāyas. The fifth, saṅgati, neither author states adhikaraṇa by adhikaraṇa — both instruct that it be inferred once the topics of śāstra, adhyāya and pāda are known — so it is composed here and marked ऊहिता. The kind of avāntara-saṅgati is left open for a reading.
